The housing market is showing signs of cooling down a bit, as June sales in Ohio are down 6.8% from June 2021. Home sales were still above 15,400 in Ohio. The are two reasons believed to be contributing to the lower sales: mortgage rate increases and less homes available. As for the prices of these homes, they were on the upswing. Compared to June 2021, purchase prices were 9.7% higher, averaging $281,176. There is another positive, not every market in Ohio saw a drop in sales. Of the 15 markets in Ohio, six saw an increase in sales.
