When it comes to the real estate market, the decrease in sales from 2022 compared to 2023 remains at double digits. Homes sales in our local Multiple Listing Service (MLS)* have decreased just over 18% when comparing April 2023 to April 2022. Since the beginning of the year, the MLS sales are down over 15% when compared to the sales from the same time period in 2022.
One a brighter note, and one that we have see for several months, the average sale price for a home is higher than 2022. In 2022, the first four months saw an average sale price of $212,921. Meanwhile, during the same time frame in 2023, average home sale prices are $219,684; that is an increase of 3.2%.
