February 2020 Pending Home Sales

The National Association of Realtors® released that during February 2020 the pending home sales index increased by 2.4% to 111.5. Each of the four major regions in the United States showed an increase in activity from month to month.

Before the coronavirus pandemic shut down the market, sales were showing a healthy market. In the next couple of weeks, statistics about how the market is holding up will become available. But, NAR’s Lawrence Yun stated, “Numbers in the coming weeks will show just how hard the housing market was hit, but I am optimistic that the upcoming stimulus package will lessen the economic damage and we may get a V-shaped robust recovery later in the year.” Leaving hope for the housing market after this pandemic!
