It is time for the Triennial update. This occurs every three years, in between the six-year Mass Revaluations, which last occurred in 2020. Unlike the 2020 update, this update will not involve the Auditor staff inspecting each property. Instead, they will look at values based on neighborhood sales over the last three years. It will explore what a property could be sold for on January 1, 2023. the state will evaluate the numbers and will let the Auditor’s office know what change they feel should be made. Auditor Dave Thomas will be able to argue those changes with the Ohio Department of Taxation based on the data they have collected.
Postcards will be sent to residents of the county, and they will have access online or in person to discuss the changes.
