The daffodils are starting to bloom and the tulips are popping through the ground…Spring is in the air! Is this is a good time to put your house on the market? Many experts say “YES”! According to the National Association of Realtors®, the prime selling week is around April 10-16 for higher profits and realtor.com says between April 16-22 that market conditions will be prime for selling.
Once the winter starts to melt away, buyers are, typically, more likely to start looking for homes. While home sales are not as fast in the summer, by March sales do start to pick up. The spring blooms enhance the landscape of properties. Also after Daylight Saving time, more daylight usually boosts people’s moods and more time for showings.
One drawback during the Spring, is that if you want to do renovations that need contractors, their schedules fill up quickly. The milder temperatures brings on the thoughts of Spring cleaning and renovations. Also, there will be more competition as more people will be putting their homes on the market.
So, if you plan to sell your house in the near future, you are entering the market at a good time!
